Privacy

Your story is yours. We simply hold it with care.

You are trusted here, and trust runs both ways. This policy sets out exactly what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and the control you keep over all of it — written to Canadian privacy standards, in language you should not need a lawyer to read.

Last updated 1 October 2026

01Who this policy belongs to

This website is owned and operated by Maxine Grant-Adanfoh ("we", "us", "our"), based in the Province of Ontario, Canada. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect through this website and the Become Her™, Vibrant Visions and Marvelous Light experiences, why we collect it, and the choices you keep at every step.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), applicable provincial privacy legislation, and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

02The information you choose to share

We only ask for what we genuinely need in order to welcome you, respond to you and deliver what you requested. You are never required to give more than that.

  • Become Her™ Circle sign-up details: your first name and email address, and, only if you choose to give them, your city and your mobile or WhatsApp number.
  • Optional context you volunteer, such as your city, your reason for joining, speaking enquiry details, or what you hope to receive from the Become Her™ Circle.
  • Your express consent choices, including whether you ticked the optional WhatsApp box, and the date and time that consent was given.
  • Campaign and visit details that arrive with your sign-up: the campaign tags in the link you used (such as utm_source), the page you came from, and the page you were on.
  • Booking information you enter into the Google Calendar appointment schedules used for conversations, which Google handles under its own privacy terms.
  • Answers to the short questions shown before a Leadership & Consulting conversation. At the time of this policy they are held in your browser while you complete the booking and are not sent to our servers, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing in the calendar booking itself.
  • Event ticket purchases are made on our ticketing partner Bloom's website, not on this site. Bloom collects your name, contact and payment details under its own terms and privacy policy; we never see or store your card information, and we may receive the attendee details Bloom provides to us as organiser (such as your name and email) so we can run the event.
  • Limited technical information collected automatically, such as device type, browser, approximate region, referring page and pages viewed, used only to keep the site secure, stable and readable on your device.

03Why we use it

Your information is used for clearly limited purposes, and never for purposes you would not reasonably expect.

  • To respond to your message, enquiry or booking request.
  • To welcome you into the Become Her™ Circle and send the updates, invitations and reflections you asked to receive.
  • To send the Woman Within journey emails and other Circle emails you signed up for.
  • To invite you to the optional Become Her™ Circle WhatsApp community, only where you ticked the WhatsApp box.
  • To organise gatherings, workshops, speaking engagements, Become Her™ events and community sessions you register or buy a ticket for, and to share the practical details attendees need.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which pages, campaigns and buttons bring women to the website so we can make it clearer and more useful.
  • To improve the clarity, accessibility and performance of this website.
  • To meet legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations in Canada.

04Consent, and how to withdraw it

We rely on your consent. Submitting a form is your consent for us to reply and to send you the communications described at the point of collection. WhatsApp messaging requires a separate, express opt-in, and you will never be added without it.

You may withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, replying STOP to a WhatsApp message, or contacting us. Withdrawal takes effect promptly. It may mean we can no longer provide a service you asked for, and it does not affect processing that already lawfully occurred.

05Your Circle emails

When you join the Become Her™ Circle, your details are saved in Kit, the email service we use, and you are tagged so we can send the welcome and Woman Within journey emails you asked for. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and we honour unsubscribes promptly, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

06The optional WhatsApp community

The WhatsApp community is a separate, optional extension of the Circle. The WhatsApp box is never pre-ticked and is not required to join the Circle by email.

We never use the mobile number you give us to add you to a WhatsApp group. If you ticked the box, you will be shown an official invitation and you decide whether to join. The number you type into the form is stored separately from your WhatsApp consent, and clicking the invitation button is recorded only as a click, never as proof that you joined.

Once you join a WhatsApp group, WhatsApp (operated by Meta) processes your information under its own terms, and other members may be able to see your profile name, photo and number. You can leave the group at any time.

07Tickets and events

Tickets to Become Her™ events are sold through Bloom. When you select a ticket button on this website you leave our site and complete your purchase on Bloom, which is responsible for your payment details and receipt. Please read Bloom's privacy policy before you buy. We only use the attendee details we receive for running and following up on the event.

08Visitors from across Canada

This website is operated from Ontario and welcomes women from every province and territory. If you live in another province, you may have additional privacy rights under the laws there, and we will respect them.

09What we never do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share your details with third parties for their own marketing. We do not publish your name, story or photograph without your specific permission.

10Service providers

We work with a small number of trusted providers who process information on our behalf or for the service you choose: Kit (email list and Circle sign-ups), Bloom (event tickets and payment), Google (Calendar appointment schedules and web fonts), WhatsApp / Meta (the optional community), and our website hosting provider. They receive only what is necessary for their function and are required to protect it.

Some providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Where that happens, the information may be accessible to courts, law enforcement or national security authorities of that jurisdiction. We use providers who apply comparable protection through contractual and technical safeguards.

11Cookies and measurement

This website uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to function and to understand, in aggregate, how pages and buttons are used. For example, the campaign tags in the link you arrived from are kept in your browser session so a later Circle sign-up or ticket click can be attributed to the right campaign. We do not run advertising trackers or build advertising profiles about you. Google Fonts and embedded Google Calendar schedules load from Google's servers, which may receive your IP address when they load. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings; some features may then work less smoothly.

12How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as long as required by Canadian law. Enquiries are kept while they are active and for a reasonable follow-up period. Circle and mailing details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Records we must retain for tax or legal reasons are kept for the period the law requires, then securely destroyed.

13How we protect it

We use appropriate safeguards for the sensitivity of the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to those who need it, reputable providers, and prompt removal of information we no longer need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security; we do commit to acting quickly and transparently if a breach creating a real risk of significant harm occurs, including notifying you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required.

14Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you may, at any time:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and how it has been used.
  • Request access to a copy of that information.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent, unsubscribe, or ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep.
  • Ask a question or make a complaint about how your information was handled.

15Children

This website and these programmes are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

16Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated to subscribers before they take effect.

17Contact and complaints

Questions, access requests and privacy concerns can be sent through a direct message to @lady.purpose on Instagram, or by replying to any email we send you. We aim to acknowledge every request within five business days and to respond substantively within thirty days, as PIPEDA requires.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
